Vaccination Leave

Employees are now able to request leave for when they receive COVID-19 vaccinations. The instructions below are from PGCPS and show you how to enter vaccination leave on Oracle:

All central office and school-based staff will receive one day of paid leave for each of the two days that the employee is vaccinated. If the vaccination occurs over the weekend, the leave will fall on the following Monday.

Employees are required to enter this Vaccination Leave via Oracle Self-Service. The following fields must be completed to Create an Absence Request and to accurately record your leave.

  • For Absence Type, select "Other Leave"
  • For Absence Reason, select "Vaccination"
  • For Leave Hours, enter the total number of hours
  • For Comments, enter any other relevant information

Please email written documentation of your scheduled vaccine to your immediate supervisor and retain a copy for your records. Following the vaccination period, your documentation may be reviewed to ensure that Vaccination Leave was only used on the day of actual vaccination (or the following Monday if the vaccination occurs on a weekend).

For any other questions or additional information related to Vaccination Leave, please email [email protected].

An employee who is unable to work with modifications, including telework, due to childcare, caring for an individual under quarantine, isolation or medical care due to COVID-19, or other qualified reasons, may be eligible for paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave until Thursday, December 31, as provided by the Families First Coronavirus Response Act.
