Did you know that in the last collective bargaining agreement, the Union made the following gains:

Union Wide-Gains

  • Across the board increases and merit steps every year.

*5% Across the Board increase effective 7/1/2022

*4% Across the Board Increase effective 7/1/2023

*4% Across the Board Increase effective 7/1/2024

  • Retention bonus for all employees of $1,000 paid October 2022.
  • Increased sick time. 2 more days per year for 10 & 11month employees, 1 more day per year for 12 month employees
  • Now easier for part-time workers to qualify for FMLA.
  • More time to fulfill coaching and greater ability to participate in emoluments.
  • Increase personal days from 4 to 5 for 10 and 11 month employees.
  • 10 paid days for maternity/paternity leave.
  • Improved language on RIFs and transfers.

 

 

Food Service

  • Improved uniform benefit
  • Food Services Satellite Managers will receive 7 hours per day.
  • $200 stipend for Food Handler’s license.

 

Security Services

  • Improved uniform benefit
  • Alarm techs tool allowance from $175 to $300.
  • New annual $2,000 certification differential for Security Service personnel who hold certifications.

 

Building Services

  • Boot allowance to $200
  • Apprentice program
  • PGCPS will reimburse the cost of CDL renewal
  • Grades 13 and higher tool allowance from $300 to $500, Grades 10-12 tool allowance from $200 to $400.
  • Locksmiths now eligible for annual certification differential if they hold locksmith certification.

Central Garage

  • Increased training
  • PGCPS will reimburse the cost of CDL renewal.
  • Annual tool reimbursement increased from $1,000 to $1,500.

 

School Nurses

  • Increase hours from 7 to 8 hours.
  • More pay when covering duties at additional schools.
  • New differential for Master’s in Nursing.

 

School Clerical

  • On days when school system is scheduled for early release, 12-month clerical will be permitted to leave when teachers leave.
  • New bilingual pay of 3%.
  • School secretaries to receive time and a half when serving as substitutes in classrooms.

 

Central Office

  • Instructional and technical support professionals will have a new section of the contract with greater protections.
  • New certification pays of $1,000 annually for national certifications for central office employees.
  • More professional development time.

 

Paraprofessionals

  • Special education paraprofessionals to receive a 3% differential on salary grades 4, 5 and 6.
  • Improved substitute pay.

 

Transportation

  • Increase minimum hours for bus drivers to 6.5 and attendants to 6.
  • Increase hours allotted to year end bus wash to 3 hours.
  • MVA driver trainers receive $2,000 annual differential.
  • PGCPS will reimburse the cost of CDL renewal
