Request for Proposal (RFP) - Accounting Services

ACE-AFSCME Local 2250 is seeking a qualified and experienced accounting firm to provide comprehensive accounting services, including bookkeeping, 990 filing, and check printing for our local union. We are interested in establishing a long-term partnership with a reputable firm that can ensure accurate and efficient financial management for our organization.

Scope of Work:

The selected accounting firm will be responsible for the following services:

Bookkeeping:

-Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

-Reconcile bank statements and financial transactions.

-Provide monthly financial reports.

990 Filing:

-Prepare and file Form 990 annually in compliance with federal regulations.

-Ensure all necessary schedules and attachments are complete and accurate.

-Advise on any changes in tax laws affecting the organization.

Check Printing:

-Process and print checks for authorized payments.

-Maintain a secure and organized system for check issuance.

-Provide a record of all issued checks.

Proposal Submission Guidelines:

 Interested accounting firms are invited to submit a comprehensive proposal addressing the following:

 Firm Overview:

 Provide an overview of your firm, including its history, size, and expertise in providing accounting services to non-profit organizations.

Qualifications and Experience:

Detail your firm's experience in working with local unions or similar organizations.

Highlight relevant certifications, qualifications, and memberships in professional accounting associations.

References:

 Provide at least three references from current or former clients who can speak to your firm's expertise and reliability.

Cost Proposal:

 Outline your proposed fee structure for the specified services.

Include any additional costs or fees that may apply.

Timeline:

 Provide a proposed timeline for the commencement and completion of services.

Security Measures:

 Describe the security measures in place to safeguard sensitive financial information.

Submission Deadline:

 All proposals must be submitted by March 14, 2024 via email to [email protected]. Late submissions will not be considered.

 Evaluation Criteria:

Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

Relevant experience and expertise.

Cost-effectiveness.

References.

Proposed timeline.

ACE-AFSCME Local 2250 reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to negotiate terms with the selected accounting firm. The selected firm will be notified by March 31.
