Important General Update: July 24, 2020

July 24, 2020

Dear Members of ACE-AFSCME Local 2250:

On July 21, 2020, the AFSCME Judicial Panel removed from office, Mrs. Denise Yorkshire, Local President of ACE-AFSCME Local 2250. This action was due to a violation of Article XII of the Local 2250 Constitution and Article X, Section 2(A) of the International Constitution by raising the monthly dues without proper authority. The penalty imposed is removal from office of Local President, and a suspension of the right to hold or seek any elected position at any level of the union for a period of three years. Per the request of Mrs. Yorkshire, please see enclosed decision by the AFSCME Judicial Panel.

In accordance with Article VI, Section 2(H), "should there be a vacancy in the presidency, the position will be filled by the Vice-President for the remainder of the term of office. "As a result, Mrs. Denise Yon will fill the position of Local President, until our next Local 2250 electionwhich will be held on August 7, 2020. This will guarantee continuity of representation and help to meet the union's financial obligations until new leaders are elected.

Our commitment to you is to remain transparent and keep you informed as we move forward together. It is imperative that every member take an active role in their union. We are confident that we will rebuild our Union together and look forward to working with you.

In Solidarity,

Timothy Traylor
