Central Office Work Hours

Many Prince George's County Public Schools employees in three job classifications have been assigned the wrong amount of work hours.

The Union contract states that In-School Suspension Monitors, Parent Engagement Assistants and Itinerant Special Education Assistants should work eight hours per day with an unpaid 30 minutes lunch break. The Union surveyed workers in these classifications and found that many were working fewer hours, affecting their pay and retirements.

The Union has filed grievances for each job classification on this matter. Click here to read the Step 2 Grievance, and click here to read the Step 3 Grievance. You can read PGCPS' response to the Step 2 Grievance by clicking here.

PGCPS has sent out a memo regarding the correct work hours for each classification, which you can read by clicking here.
