PENSION REFORM RALLY

We are sure you are aware that the Maryland State Legislature is considering the issue of pension reform for both the teachers’ and employees’ pension system.

We also do not have to advise you that the current pensions are very poor.  We have contacted, in writing, all of the Prince George’s County senators and delegates to urge them to take positive steps to improve the current systems.  We have given them graphs outlining the low pensions our members receive after 30 years of service.  We also have communicated with the Special Joint Committee on Pensions providing them with the same information.

To assist Local 2250 and other employee organizations in this effort we are urging our members and retirees to join us.

WHEN:          March 13, 2006
